Local Policing Helping To Build Safer Communities!

The aim of neighbourhood policing is to work at a very local level with our communities and with other agencies, to build safer neighbourhoods throughout Sussex. The concept of Neighbourhood Panels has been identified as best practice by the Home Office.

A Neighbourhood Panel is a formal meeting held by representatives from the local community, usually held every three months or as often as the group itself identifies. The members discuss and identify issues that concern the community as a whole with local police and other partners present contributing. The issues which are identified as the local priorities are recorded and local police or other appropriate agencies then assist the community in resolving these issues.

Seaford Police continue to support youth activities, supporting the local Youth Task Group and assisting with the very successful football scheme at the Downs Leisure Centre. For more information please visit www.ncda.org.uk.

As for the speeding, we now have a council owned portable Speed Camera which will be used in your local area to combat repeat offenders. The local scheme is known as Speed watch and volunteers are encouraged to contact the Town Council. If you see anyone driving in an anti-social manner please report it to www.operationcrackdown.org
